Senior Director of Mimos

Hong is a Senior Director at MIMOS Berhad, the national ICT and micro-nanoelectronics R&D centre in Malaysia. He leads vision and product roadmap for Artificial Intelligence, Data-intensive analytics, HPC Cloud technologies .
Prior to joining MIMOS, he was a Senior HPC Researcher at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the largest science and energy national laboratory in the Department of Energy, US. He worked on petascale computing runtime system software and architecture.

Hong earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth, UK in 2004 and his B.S and M.S in Computer Science from Kent State University, Ohio in 1996 and 1999 respectively. He is an established speaker internationally, and has and contributed extensively to the industry through 32 filed patents, 2 book chapters and 76 refereed papers. He has also regularly served as Co-Chairs and committee members for international conferences.
